His road to comedy was not a straight line. The Ghanaian-American started school in an ESL program, worked twice as hard to be an average student, and went on to earn a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Augusta University, where he later taught as adjunct faculty. He spent years working in psychiatric hospitals. In grad school, he found out he had ADHD himself. “I lead with my story,” he says, “because we heal and learn as a community.”

He has appeared on Netflix’s John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A., NBC’s TODAY show and ABC7 Los Angeles, and has been featured by The Washington Post, TIME, the Los Angeles Times, Cosmopolitan and BuzzFeed. He spoke on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ mental health panel for the 95th Oscars and was selected by the White House as one of its healthcare leaders on social media. He is the author of Feeling Good! A Mental Health Workbook (Adams Media, Simon & Schuster) and You Already Won, and hosts The Neurodivergent Struggles Show podcast.
