The mental health talk students actually watch.

Dr. Kojo’s keynote “Laughing at your own brain” mixes stand-up with his own story of undiagnosed ADHD. Students laugh, and a lot of them leave with words for something they couldn’t name before.

The talk

Laughing at your own brain.

He grew up working twice as hard to be an average student, earned a doctorate anyway, and found out in grad school that he’d had ADHD the whole time. That story is the spine of the talk. The jokes are what keep a lecture hall listening.

Students feel seen

A room laughing at the same struggle tells everyone in it they’re not the only one. That lands harder than a slide deck.

Better language

Staff and students leave with plain words for ADHD, autism and AuDHD, and for how to talk to a classmate or colleague who has them.

It’s a real show

He headlines comedy clubs on The Big Neurodivergent Comedy World Tour. Your students get the same show a paying club crowd gets.

Good fits

Where it fits.

Awareness months

ADHD Awareness Month in October and Mental Health Awareness Month in May are the obvious ones. Disability and neurodiversity events work too.

Orientation and welcome week

A first-week event that’s funny and says “it’s okay to need help” without a lecture.

Campus nights

A straight stand-up set for programming boards and student activities, about ADHD, autism and neurodivergent life.

Counseling and accessibility offices

A keynote that gets students into the room, so the people who run support services can meet them afterward.

Planning

What organizers ask.

How long is the talk?

Keynotes run 30 to 60 minutes. He also does stand-up sets, panels and fireside chats with a host.

Can he speak virtually?

Yes. He does live-streamed talks for online and hybrid events.

Is this clinical training?

No. It’s entertainment and education. It isn’t clinical training, continuing education credit or treatment, and he doesn’t give individual medical advice from the stage.

How do we check dates and cost?

Send your date, campus, audience size and budget through the booking form. His team replies within 2 business days.
